Dr. Werhan offers here some daily thoughts from twenty-three years of trying to preach the gospel in a single congregational setting. These are not short sermon synopses, but rather some things that were said in the context of some of the sermons preached during a twenty-three year ministry, providing some thought-provoking reflections for the reader's daily devotion and edification, or a Pastor's sermon preparation.

"The Spirit guided ministry from the past is here offered in the present to challenge and encourage readers to continue growing in Christ," says  Tonya Vickery,Co-Pastor of Cullowhee Baptist Church, Cullowhee, NC. "It is a gold mine rich in nuggets of wisdom, inspiration, and practical Christian living, says Jack Hinson , Minister, Chaplain, Haywood County, NC. "Without instructing, it teaches, and without directing, it lights the way," says Joe Yelton, Pastor, Hominy Baptist Church, Candler, NC. "If you give a hoot about church life, you ought to read this," says James Dunn, Professor, Wake Forest U. School of Divinity. "Enjoy it, one bite at a time, savoring every morsel; it will feed your soul," says Larry Hovis, Executive Coordinator, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina.
